Q: I’ve forgotten my password. Can I get a new one?
A: If you’ve forgotten your password, don’t worry. Just click either the ‘Register now’ or ‘Log in’ buttons at the top of the home page and request a new password using your previous Username or e-mail address. This way we can e-mail a new password over to you straight away.
Q: I’m a Birmingham teacher but I’m still paying for the resources. Aren’t the materials free?
A: All lesson resources, lesson plans, accompanying films clips, access to the R.E. Adviser and access to the full syllabus are all free for teachers within the Birmingham LA (this excludes free schools). If you use your school email address in your profile details the site will recognise you as a Birmingham teacher and will allow you free access to the materials.
Q: I’ve downloaded the lesson plans/lesson resources/film clips. But can’t get them to open or play.
A: All lesson plans and lesson resources are saved as Microsoft Word files. You will need Microsoft Word to open and access these. All videos are saved as QuickTime Movie files (.mov) these should open within Windows Media player. If they fail to play within Windows Media player than try downloading the latest version of QuickTime player from www.apple.com/quicktime/download
Q: how do I book a time with the RE Advisor?
A: We have made the ability for booking the Birmingham Religious Education advisor a lot easier for you with this website. There is now a dedicated area marked ‘RE Adviser’ from here you can choose the service you require, book your time slot and arrange a meeting to handle all your Religious Education needs.
Q: I can’t find my downloadable lesson content on my computer?
A: Different computers will save downloaded content from the Internet in different places. Depending on what Internet browser you use, you will either be asked where you would like to save files or it will automatically save it to a pre destined location. Unfortunately, if it has automatically downloaded it would be very difficult to tell where it is. However, if you are sure you have chosen a lesson to download to explore further, you can always go to your ‘account page’ and find it again within there. You can find this by clicking on the ‘My account’ button situated top right of the page. This will take you to your account page, displaying all the lessons you have chosen to download in the past!
