• CHIEF are undertaking a research project which involves nine countries within and outside Europe and aims to understand how young people are engaging with meanings and forms of European cultural heritage in various educational contexts (e.g. school, civil society, family, peer groups and heritage sites) and whether this engagement leads to an increase in their cultural literacy, enabling their active cultural participation in society.

  • Peacemakers are hosting two free workshops and are inviting schools to bring 4 KS2 pupils and a member of staff to one of these workshops being held on 5th and 9th of November at the venue - Peace Hub, 41 Bull Street, Birmingham B4 6AF.


    What will this workshop do?

    - Share stories about the choices people made during WW1

    - Explore the factors that influence our decisions today and how we can stand up for peace

    - Inspire your pupils to be Junior Peacemakers able to share their ideas with the rest of your school

  • Part of registered charity Saltmine Trust, Saltmine Theatre Company is a professional touring theatre company with a Christian ethos. Each year the company works with about 300 primary and secondary schools and performs to over 54,000 pupils across the British Isles, using innovative storytelling and interactive workshops to explore issues, share God’s story and encourage young people to make considered and positive life choices.

  • Enrichment presentations and workshops for school students in Years 7-13, given by Freddy Naftel, an experienced teacher and educator. Offering his personal family story related to The Holocaust and discuss contemporary anti-semitism through the use of images and accounts. Myths and stereotypes are also dispelled. He can offer individual sessions, halfdays and/or full days at a rate of - £50 per hour + travel expenses.

  • The Holocaust Educational Trust each year offer free half-day or full-day continuing professional development (CPD) workshops to primary and secondary teachers across the UK. These educational programmes are supported by a range of free guidance materials, lesson plans and resources. Bespoke teacher training workshops are delivered free of charge, and only ask organisations to cover travel (and where necessary accommodation) for an Education Officer to come out from London.

  • A researcher from the University of Warwick is conducting research on the implementation of PREVENT in schools in Birmingham. The researcher is looking for teachers and head teachers to particpate in the research project. If you are interested please see the attached file for further information.
